Not what we expected

This was billed as Jewish Ghetto Food Tour. We had hoped to get a lot more history about the Jewish Ghetto and we expected to be eating "Jewish" food. The tour guide was very nice and she gave us some history - but not much. The first thing we ate, after a quick stop by a bakery was ham. There wasn't anything that we ate, except perhaps the pastry that was in anyway "Jewish food." It was all good but just not what we expected.

Jewish Ghetto and Food Tour

Silvia was our guide and did an exceptional job. The history of the Jewish Ghetto was very interesting and informative. Tasting various traditional Venetian foods along the way added to the experience. These weren’t samples but a full on five course meal eaten in various areas. Go really hungry! It was a lot of fun to learn the food culture with someone who knows it well. We would highly recommend this tour and Silvia. Thanks Silvia for sharing Venice with us!

Such a delightful experience! We went at a quiet time (January) and we had a wonderful tour guide all to ourselves. Even though we were eating tapas by the end of the evening we were well fed and very happy with the world in general. A lovely experience all round!

An authentic food tour showing a different side of Venice

The Jewish Ghetto food tour was fascinating and authentic. Our passionate guide shared the history of the area and the food. I learnt so much about the Jewish Venetian culture that still exists today. A great way to experience a different side of Venice. Just make sure you don't eat too much before the tour! I was so full by the end.

Don’t miss the opportunity

This is an excellent tour which shows off some of the less touristy parts of Venice. Our tour guide, Alice, was a complete joy - very welcoming, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable, not only about the food and area we were touring but Venetian culture in general. The Jewish quarter was fascinating and it’s history very poignant. The stops for food were super, Alice was very good at ensuring food allergies or preferences were covered. The hosts in the cafes and restaurant stops were very welcoming and friendly and the portions offered were most generous. I had no room for the gelato at the end of the tour and that says a lot! All in all a wonderful evening experience which was worth every Euro. (This was one of 2 food tours we did and this one totally eclipsed the other - I’m so glad we finished our trip with this tour and not the other way around). Highly recommend!

Fascinating tour

This was a lovely evening, and our guide Valentina was a great companion. The restaurants and bars we visited were all fantastic, with very generous portions of delicious food and wine. It's definitely worth making sure you have a light lunch if you're planning on taking this tour! Valentina was very knowledgeable about both the food itself and the history of the Jewish Ghetto, and gave us some really interesting insights into the history of the area. She also had lots of useful tips for finding good food in Venice, and for how to spot the best gelato shops, which came in handy on the rest of our trip. We really enjoyed our evening, thank you very much!

Best thing to do in Venice!

Honestly, this was the highlight of our trip to Venice. We went in the middle of summer when there was a heat advisory. This lovely tour brought to many people together from all over. I am still friends with some of the people I met on the tour and it is around a year later. The food was great and so was the history! We learned so much. A day after to tour a restaurant employee waved and recognized us from the tour. It really made you feel special. -A Wisconsinite

Our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgable of the history of the Jewish Gheto, and was able to point out so many great details as we walked. The food was excellent, she provided great recommendation for food and wine. Definitely wish I had been introduced to the Venice style of eating previously!
