Campo Santa Maria del Giglio (in front of The Gritti Palace Hotel). Go directly to the gondoliers for the check in. With the "Church of Santa Maria del Giglio” at your back, go straight on to the waterfront and you will find the Gondola landing stage.

  • The gondola serenade includes a pair of musicians (a singer and a musician) who will be boarded in one of the gondolas to perform throughout the trip; there are not musicians on each gondola; to permit all participants to listen the serenade, the musicians will board on a gondola in the centre of the row
  • The tour does not operate in case of bad weather (in these cases it can be postponed to the day after otherwise it will be refunded)
  • Near public transportation
  • Not recommended for travelers with back problems

  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions

I would say this was the funnest 30 minutes I had in Venice. Singer and music we’re fabulous! We did have a little Gondola traffic jam in one canal, it was actually fun to see how all those boats got past each other. I would definitely advise to do this tour!

Gondola Serenade Did Not Deliver

Tour was described as a serenade gondola ride. 8 gondolas went out in a very tight group with the singer in one of the gondolas. You couldn’t hear the singer and the gondolas were so tightly grouped it was not a pleasant experience - more like a crowded amusement park ride. Would definitely do a gondola ride while in Venice but not through this group.

Overall, we were treated like cattle and shoved into the gondolas. There was one person singing for about 10 boats, so it wasn't always easy to hear. This is NOT a romantic evening event. It's better to spend the 80-100 Euro and get your own gondola!

When you go to Venice it is a must do to go on a Gondola ride with serenade. People says it is not worth it but it really was well worth it for us because we took a the ride in the evening 7PM, it was wonderful. Got to see Venice from different angles with a serenade. Please note that this rides are for up to 6 people. That didn't bother us at all.

We booked this tour as the reviews seemed to be positive. I'm not sure if the tour changed at some point but it was not enjoyable at all. We booked a lot of tours online and have very rarely had a bad experience. This experience was not pleasant at all. I would rate it below the SMALL WORLD ride at Disneyland. There were 9 nine gondolas and 1 pair of musicians on the 5th gondola that rode single file down a very narrow canal. We could not hear the music most of the time from our boat. We had to be over 160 feet away from the gondola with the musicians. It is NOT on the Grand Canal, you will have the view of what I would consider the back alley of a residential community, nothing of interest, no music, no view. The gondoliers talked to each other through the whole tour so you couldn't hear anything. The Audio Guide that is included with the tour did not correspond with anything we saw. I always read bad reviews and think it's someone who is picky or hard to please but we had a great experience on all of our other tours so please stay away from this tour! We voiced our concerns with the tour operator and they were completely rude to us.

The reason we booked this was for the serenade. It would have been an awesome experience if we could’ve heard or seen the singer & musicians more than 30% of the time. The company sent out a group of gondolas and the singer was only in one. Also, each gondola held 6 people, but only 2 people could actually sit side by side. Seating was very uncomfortable. Very disappointed. I’ve waited my whole life for a gondola ride...

This was a waste of time and money. There are empty gondolas all over the city that you can jump on for a private ride at your leisure. This activity requires you to find a certain spot and wait, wait, wait your precious time away. Our gondolier did not attempt to stay close to the serenade, instead he talked with all the passing gondoliers, smoked cigarettes, and had us back to the loading platform in under 20 minutes. We got off the boat, went down the block and stood on the footbridge to hear our serenade go by... So disappointed!
