Return Details

Returns to original departure point
One of the most-visited parks in the United States, Yosemite National Park is famed for its wild beauty and massive natural attractions. After morning pickup at your San Francisco hotel (selected hotels only), cruise across the new San Francisco Bay Bridge and through historic Gold Rush towns as the urban bustle gives way to the rugged landscape of the Sierra Nevada.

When you arrive at the park, stretch your legs at Tuolumne Grove with a hike among some of the oldest and largest trees in the world (weather permitting). Crane your neck to see the top of the giant sequoia trees, including a tunneled-out tree large enough to drive a car through.

Continue on to Glacier Point for an unbeatable view of Yosemite’s photogenic valley framed by the giant granite formations of Half Dome and El Capitan. Look for expert rock climbers trying to scale the world-class cliffs and, in springtime, watch the thundering cascade of Yosemite Falls.

Enjoy some free time to explore the park on your own. Rent a bike and cruise along the flat paths of Yosemite Valley (not included), hike to a nearby waterfall or visit the Ansel Adams Gallery to see some of the most famous images of the park ever captured on film. Lunch options include a picnic on the Merced River or a casual meal at the Yosemite Lodge (own expense). Reconnect with your guide at the appointed time, and relax on the scenic drive back to San Francisco.

Please note: The weather in Yosemite is highly variable and includes rain and snow in winter and high temperatures in summer. The itinerary may be adapted to make the most of Yosemite during different seasons and times of the year. The giant sequoias are best visited between May and October. During the rest of the year, snow and ice conditions may prevent access to roads and trails, and other activities may be substituted.

Tour good…guide wasn’t

The tour and places of interest itself were good. Our guide Ramon was the issue. The giant Sequoias were our first stop. He said over and over that he would leave us if we were too slow. It is a mile down and very steep on the way back plus it’s at 6000 feet so it’s harder to breathe. He gave us an hour. He showed us the gas station we would have to walk to to call the company to be picked up. He was unkind. He also seemed intent on getting back to SF so he could go home. Later in the trip we had 2 hours for a stop where there wasn’t much to see. Also he drove down the mountain extremely fast! Both my partner and myself were very scared. There are not many guardrails on that mt. Lastly, there was 1 time he was nice…at the end asking for a 20% tip ($30 per person). Don’t go w/this guy!!

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed. Most guests enjoy Roman's sarcastic humor but I completely understand that it rubbed you the wrong way. Roman is very experienced and knows to caution guests about trying to do too much at the Toulumne Grove of redwoods. Bus ride to Yosemite

Gino, our driver was fun and very knowledgeable. We liked stopping at the market for food and enjoyed seeing Yosemite. We were a little nervous with the speed of the bus on those steep turns going up and down the mountain.

Gino will be very happy to hear that you enjoyed your tour. Yosemite never disappoints (even though you have to climb a mountain to get there!).

The tour was great! The vehicle used was clean and comfortable. Our tour guide and driver (Gino) provided us with a lot of information along the way and ample time on breaks. There is one food break going to and fro from Yosemite. when we arrived at the location our tour guide gave us time to explore the trails and area on our own.

That makes us all very happy. Gino enjoyed having you on his tour. Let's do it again, soon.

The driver and the tour company is reckless

I arrived at the spot right on time at 6:15 and I saw no bus outside Hilton hotel San Francisco , the departure was at 6:20 originally . I walked a bit to get a Starbucks and the driver left , saying that I should do better next time .
icon Response from Host , Aug 2021
While we generally live by the rule that the customer is always right...please allow me to correct the record, all of which can be verified by our onboard cameras and phone records. Our tour vehicle arrived at 6:21 (one minute after the agreed pickup time). Not seeing you, the guide called to locate you. There was no answer. There was also no answer on a second call. The driver waited until 6:32, hoping to unite you with the tour at which time he was instructed by our staff to leave as a courtesy to the other guests who unfairly had to wait on you. Our guest services staff finally reached you at 6:33 to try to reschedule you for another tour day with no change fee. We make our guests' safety and experiences our first priority and in a few rare cases like this one "the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few" (credit to Spock/Star Trek).
