Muir Woods National Monument tour: Hotel pickup in San Francisco starts early for the drive north across the Golden Gate Bridge, meaning you’ll reach Muir Woods before many other tours arrive. On your way out of the city, see the Palace of Fine Arts and the Presidio.

Muir Woods National Monument is home to a pristine forest of California coastal redwoods, which are some of the planet’s tallest and oldest trees with heights that can reach 250 feet (76 meters). You have some time here to wander through the grove of giant sequoias and cross over mossy streams. Your guide will tell you about the local vegetation and wildlife along the nature trail. Then return to the tour vehicle for the drive further north into wine country.

Wine country tour: When you reach your first winery in Sonoma County’s Carneros region, you can explore the grounds, enjoy photo ops of the vineyard and sample a variety of wines in a welcoming atmosphere. For lunch, guests can choose one of two lunch options. The first is to venture out on their own and try one of the many cafés and restaurants located in the plaza. The second option is to upgrade their wine country experience to the next level with a private seated gourmet food and wine pairing experience at a local restaurant. They will enjoy delicious local food paired with a collection of California wines. After being greeted with Sonoma Valley cheeses and sparkling wine, guests may select a course such as minestrone Soup with navy beans and vegetables, pasta with either a beef and pork sauce or arugula-almond pesto sauce or grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables and balsamic reduction. Afterward, continue your tour to your second and third wineries in Sonoma County or Napa County for more tastings. Enjoy a leisurely stop at each winery, and you’ll have the chance to taste 3 to 5 wines of different varietals, from white to red to sparkling. Tasting fees are included, and you may purchase bottles not available in retail stores to take home. See below for a sample of wineries you may visit.
Your day trip ends with the drive back across the Golden Gate Bridge. Admire views of the vast Pacific and the rugged coastline before hotel drop-off.

Redwoods & Wine Country Escape with Gourmet Food & Wine Pairing upgrade: Discover Muir Woods National Monument, Sonoma & Napa Valley in 1 Day and enjoy an exclusive three-course gourmet meal and wine pairing. (Lunch for children not included in the rate and needs to get paid at the restaurant).

NOTE: Tastings are usually held at Kieu Hoang Winery, Muscardini Cellars and Mayo Family Winery, but locations are subject to change, depending on availability.

If you can do both Muir Woods and wine tour why not?
, Oct 2021
Roman was our tour guide and he was great. Unfortunately it had rained a ton the night before and Muir Woods was inaccessible for our trip! But Roman persevered and found us alternative scenery to appreciate. The wine tours were fine- didn’t love the wine- but the ride was scenic and beautiful and the whole experience was fun.

Due to the rainstorms and flooding we couldn’t visit Muir Woods but Roman our driver/guide improvised and made it a fantastic day
Awful experience
, Oct 2021
The tour guide tried to accuse me of not giving him any tips after I passed him $35 tips through my girlfriend. I felt so disrespected after the trip. Recommend to stay away from the trip if you are from another country. There are wine tours that are more friendly to visitors from other non English speaking countries.

We are disappointed to hear about this misunderstanding at the end of your tour yesterday. We have clarified what happened and the tour guide is sorry. We will try to reach you today to apologize directly.
Wine all day!
, Oct 2021
Dustin was a wonderful host and guide! Lots of fun facts— entertaining all the way! Muir Woods are a sight to behold— majestic trees that are beyond words! The wine was fabulous— all three vineyards were warm and welcoming! We did not opt for the gourmet lunch— but we’re directed to a lovely cantina for an authentic Mexican meal! Highly recommend!
Great day trip

Enjoyed the guide Roman and his dry sense of humor. Lunch was very good and especially enjoyed the 3rd winery’. Muir woods is a must see
So much fun!

Dustin is so awesome! Fun, soooo knowledgeable, will go the extra mile - all you could ever want in a tour guide. A not to be missed excursion when in SF. Thanks, Dustin!
Need better wineries
, Oct 2021
Muir Woods is always pleasant and refreshing. I did not care for the wineries. They were very small and did not offer nice views of the vineyards
Great time in Napa/Sonoma and Muir Woods!
, Oct 2021
Had a full bus tour with Mike. Very clean transportation, and Mike was an excellent guide with much information about the places along our tour. We also booked the gourmet lunch, which was quite good and very well organized! Kept to a schedule, but it was well organized and we felt we had enough time at each stop. Highly recommend!
Best tour guide - Romain

Simply the best experience
, Oct 2021
My mother travelled from MS and GA for our annual mother daughters trip. We booked the wine country and Muir Woods excursions(the one that included the lunch and extra wine tasting). It was fantastic it completely exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Ben was phenomenal and always checked in with us throughout each of the experiences. He was very knowledgeable about San Fran and gave a city historical tour as we travelled to our respective excursion locations. Our fellow tourist were the best!!!! Our bus and group was a complete vibe. Everyone left feeling as though we knew each other for years. I would highly recommended this excursion to anyone. Also, I’m not sure about the negative reviews because booking up to the excursion was a great experience for us.
