Muir Woods National Monument is a must-see destination on any visit to the San Francisco Bay Area. Just a short drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, the protected nature reserve is home to one of the world’s last remaining coastal redwood forests.

Choose from a morning or afternoon departure. Stop at a vista point for a fantastic perspective of the Golden Gate and Alcatraz, and wind through the rolling emerald hills of the Marin Headlands to arrive at Muir Woods. Stroll along forest paths surrounded by the giant redwood trees, some of which stretch as high as 250 feet (76 meters) and date back nearly 800 years.

After Muir Woods, take a short drive to the artistic bayside village of Sausalito. Capture wonderful photos of the San Francisco skyline during a stroll along the waterfront, pop into one of the many art galleries and grab a cappuccino or ice cream at a local café (own expense).

Your tour concludes with drop-off at Union Square in San Francisco or choose the option of taking the ferry back to San Francisco from Sausalito.

It was beautiful and our guide was fantastic! The drive from San Fransisco was very peaceful. The walking trails in the park were clean and very well maintained. It was a perfect balance of time spent in the woods and time spent in Sausalito. We are at Fish and Chips in Sausalito and had coffee at Firehouse.

Great Convenient Tour

The tour made it easy to go see Muir woods and see some nature outside of San Francisco. The tour guide was fabulous - very knowledgeable and just pleasant to be around. We took the Ferry back from Sausalito which gave us enough time to stroll around, have lunch and coffee and explore the shops on the bay. I highly recommend this tour!

The bus was newer and comfortable and the guide knowledgeable. Muir woods was beautiful and a great start to the day. I could have spent less time in Sausalito but it was nice to see. I was very satisfied with this tour. Did not feel rushed.
