At the bottom of the wide steps across the street from the entrance of the Vatican Museums. The steps are located between Caffè Vaticano and Hotel Alimandi Vaticano, on the corner of Viale Vaticano and Via Tunisi. Our City Wonders coordinators will be wearing blue City Wonders/Guideman polo shirts or jackets for easy recognition. The closest metro stop is on line A (red line): Ottaviano - Musei Vaticani. Arriving from Ottaviano - Musei Vaticani metro A station: When you step off the metro, exit the turnstiles, walk straight to the back of the station and go to the left-side exit. Once you've reached the left-side exit, go out on the side marked V.le Giulio Cesare (to your right). Leave the station and walk straight (west) down Viale Giulio Cesare (which turns into Via Candia) for 3 ½ blocks, crossing three junctions (1. Via Vespiano 2. Via Leona IV and 3. Via Santamaura) before getting to Via Tunisi, the fourth junction. Turn left down Via Tunisi and walk straight for a block. In front of you will be a set of wide steps with a handrail running down the center. Your meeting point is at the BOTTOM of these steps. In total, the walk from the metro station to the meeting point should take around 10 – 15 minutes. Arriving from St. Peter's Square: Facing St. Peter's Basilica from the center of piazza (near the obelisk), turn right (north) and exit the piazza through the columns. Follow the Vatican walls (which will always be on your left side) all the way around to the entrance of the Vatican Museums (the entrance is on the left as you go uphill on Viale Vaticano.) This walk should take around 15 – 20 minutes.

7:30 AM
St. Peter's Basilica , Piazza San Pietro, 00120 Città del Vaticano, Vatican City
In the early morning, meet your guide at the Vatican Museums before the site opens to the public. Depending on the option selected when booking, you’ll be escorted to either the Pinecone Courtyard or the Vatican cafeteria for breakfast, followed by your exclusive tour of the Vatican’s many iconic attractions, from the Sistine Chapel to the Gallery of Maps to the Renaissance artwork inside Raphael’s Rooms.

Both tour options end at St Peter’s Basilica, which you have access to via a VIP entrance. Inside, prepare to be wowed by art like Michelangelo’s Pieta sculpture and Bernini’s Baldacchino canopy. When your tour ends and you say goodbye to your guide, you are welcome to stay inside St Peter’s Basilica.

This was by far the best tour and experience I’ve ever had on my trip here in Rome. The breakfast at the Vatican just can’t be put into words. It was so beautiful and magical and everything was just perfect. Our guide Asunta was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history and what she was showing us. She was so good! Totally recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome. It’s an unforgettable experience and ask for Asunta she’s fabulous!

Asuncione was an amazing guide. Very friendly , total knowledge and funny ! The breakfast was very good and the place is nice and open inside the Vatican. We skip all the lines it was a great feeling. Specially because by the time we left it was hot and lines were super long ! So buying this tour is totally worth it !!

The breakfast was not a buffet- it was set American food which I personally did not fancy at all. But a lot of people liked it. So that was the only thing that I did not appreciate. Other than that the guide was really awesome. Michael had so much knowledge and a very fun personality.

Mickey was very enthusiastic about the Vatican and the artists. Was enjoyable to be in his tour. Wished we got to the Sistine Chapel much quicker, but understandable because the building has so much history

The guide just seemed uninterested. She gave very brief descriptions and did not answer questions. She couldn't wait to dump us at St. Peter's Basilica and go about her day.

Mickey was an incredible host and tour guide. He’s a subject matter expert that was gracious and accommodating to our needs. My wife is allergic to certain foods. He made sure the breakfast staff was aware and were taken care of. I also found it amazing he was able memorized everyone’s name!

Our your guide was fantastic. Full of knowledge and has great humour. Also helped us get to St Peters through the short cut and gave us a brief introduction! Sistine Chapel was breath taking. The Vatican Museums were also beautiful. The artwork and artistic talent is unbelievable.

Nice tour but still crowded

It was great to be in the Vatican museum before the others, however the tour was then still with all the other groups that did not book the breakfast tour. The breakfast itself is really a lot and you get served meat even if you are vegetarian.

Lovely Morning at The Vatican

My husband and I booked this excursion. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide was Marco and he was super knowledgeable and personable. He made sure the group stayed together and shared his insight with us in a very engaging way. By the time we were leaving huge crowds were starting to form at the entrance. Definitely choose this option if you would like to beat the crowds AND the heat!!!

Well Worth the Early Wake Up

Excellent tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Marina was fantastic. It was well worth the early morning to tour the museums and grounds with no lines and limited crowds. It was easy to take a taxi from our hotel to the designated meeting point. The breakfast was good. It was delivered family-style to our table, and there were pancakes available at a separate station. They served the best coffee I had the entire trip! I know some people say they were underwhelmed with the breakfast, but you are not choosing this tour for the breakfast. You are paying for the convenience of having minimal crowds and lines in the early morning. When we were finished with the Sistine Chapel we were able to enter St. Peter's Basilica and tour it on our own.

The breakfast on this tour is very good! I did not expect it to have this many breakfast options. The tour itself is informative and beautiful. There’s a lot to take in and probably not enough time in a day to see everything. Our tour guide highlighted all the major art pieces and historic relics. It’s busy and there are stairs. Prepare to walk! Overall it was a good experience.

Once in a lifetime breakfast

Once in a lifetime breakfast. Although it’s an early start we found it was definitely the best time to visit cause by the afternoon everywhere was very busy & the queues were very long. I think our tour guide’s name was Marina who was extremely knowledgeable. Had the most amazing morning here & will never forget it.
