Worth the experience of a walking tour of Rome and the Jewish Ghetto.

Always the best way to understand the history of a city. The guide was very friendly and approachable and more importantly knowledgeable. It was also interactive and we thoroughly enjoyed and learnt a lot more than if we walked around on our own.

Carolina was a great guide. She is very knowledgeable. Good context. Lots of history. Recommend tour.

Pleasant but historically ill-informed..

The guide was very pleasant but it was clear that she had only a superficial understanding of the history of prejudice and worse for Jews in Rome. She was unable to answer many questions and even a review of Wikipedia about the Rome ghetto would have enlighten her as to the horrifying conditions under which they lived for centuries. It was disappointing for a tour supposedly of the Jewish ghetto.

Excellent guide - Sara is knowledgeable, pleasant and well prepared. Also a native English speaker which helped avoid misunderstandings

This tour helped us understand Jewish Ghetto and Trastavere

Sarah did a nice job. I appreciated how she put the monuments and buildings into historical context for us, especially the history of the Jewish population in Rome. We took one of her recommendations for lunch and we were not disappointed! I wish this was not a system of tipping. Please just charge what is fair and pay your guides. The free tour cost me 40 euros. It was worth that, but it feels a little icky to call it free.

This tour was unexpected and we learned so much about Rome we didn’t learn on the other major tours. Sarah’s knowledge was impressive and the 2+ hours was incredibly well spent. Can’t recommend this tour enough!

Totally worth it. Don’t forget to tip.

Despite the extremely hot and sunny weather, and the odd interference by: church bells, 2 brass bands, and a 100 car long column of Fiat 500s, this was a very successful tour that was totally worth the trip. Sarah was well informed and did an excellent job of putting Roman Jewish history in its loooong historical context. One caveat: we did not enter the grand synagogue, as was inferred in the marketing materials. So there is no need to wear long pants and sleeves. I did that and so did my wife and we were made extra hot unnecessarily.

Wow what a brilliant experience, seeing things that you would normally miss, being educated in a good way, friendly and relaxed, would highly recommend this tour even if you’ve been to Rome before like us it will open eyes, look forward to doing it again on our next visit,

Humiliated by guide
Kathryn_R

Lots of information about Jewish ghetto, very little about Trastevere. Guide repeatedly reminded us that our tips were his income & humiliated us regarding the amount of our tip inferring that because we came from a wealthy country we could afford more.

Excellent short walking tour

This was a great little walking tour. Small group in total - we had 4 of us plus maybe 10 others. Our guide was Julia and she was excellent. Italian native who spoke very good English. Very informative and answered all questions. It's an easy walk (although it was a hot day we did it) from Piazza Venezia to Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere where you end in front of the church. (Very inexpensive and you can tip the tour guide.)

Michael knew loads about the history of the Jewish people. Sadly little is left of the original ghetto buildings but we were shown lots of interesting things. Make sure you buy some pastries from the Jewish bakery. Great tops on places to eat and drink in Trastevere.
