A day in the Legend of Ferrari in Maranello with Test-drive

The confirmation email from Viator did not provide an address or valid phone number to contact the tour operator. This caused some early frustration, as we arrived in Maranello and had no clue where to go. Fortunately, the Viator call center was able to contact Motorsport and connected us with Christian, who directed us to their location, (They are just down the street from the Museum) Once there, it was a complete joy. Felt like a kid in a candy store, as the front of their lot included a Lamborghini, and several beautiful Ferraris. We were greeted as family by all of the staff. They had clearly been alerted of our arrival, None of them was surprised to hear that my wife would not drive, as she asked if I could have her turn. It was obvious that this is a common request. After, a check of the paperwork, we were introduced to Marco, our guide/instructor, and presented to our very red Ferrari. Before getting in, we posed for photos and got a few seconds of instructions from Marco, as he situated my wife in the back seat. These guys know that every customer is just dying to drive their little beast, and they don't waste any time in making that happen. (They were not rushing anyone - more being respectful of what their customers want.) After a thrilling ride, good dialog with Marco, and some shrieks from the back seat, we returned to the lot and were once again greeted with plenty of smiling faces, and a few quips from the knowing staff. I got the impression that they've seen and heard it all, from happy returning drivers. We got to see our pre-ignition photos on a large TV, and also a video of our ride. These were offered at a reasonable, touristy price, with no pressure whatsoever. They invited us to leave our car on their lot while we went to the Museum (which was awesome). And when we came back later to retrieve our car, they once again made us feel like family. Overall, I think that this tour was worth the money, and I will gladly go back to see Christian and the crew at Motorsports the next time i am in the area.

If you want to drive a ferrari at speed, do yourself a favor and just go to Maranella and rent one of your choice. It will cost more (probably 150-200 euros) but will be worth it. The Ferrari California was old and beaten and we were relegated to drive on the main roads, subject to traffic and speed cameras. I only got up to 140kph breifly and my partner got stuck begind a semi and grandma driver. Museum was smaller and more commetcialized than Modena (way better museum). I would not do this tour again.

Great cars! Fun day test driving the Ferraris for our whole family. Taking the cars out on the street was exciting!

The directions were a little confusing. There are several rental company's in the same area. The experience of driving such a beautiful car was great. They need to have a better explanation of what you are actually going to get to do. We were told to go to the museum and then return. When we returned we were left standing around waiting for them to photograph us in the car. Then the fun began with the driving experience. We had bought two packages with two 10lk drives. Then we were told we would be driving down the streets not on a track which is what I had envisioned from the description on their site. I was already planning on letting my husband enjoy mine, so off they went. We were offered and purchased the photo package and a separate DVD of the go pro footage of the actual driving experience. After some additional standing around we asked about lunch? We were given a ride to a restaurant and dropped of with a given time of pick-up. We went in and enjoyed a nice meal. When we were finished the driver picked us up and we were brought back to the facility. We said our good-byes and headed on our way. Just be aware of what your getting for your money...it sounded like a different experience.

Fantastic. Company very kind and swapped day around as raining when we were booked to drive. Helpful and fun.. photographer on site excellent, lots of options nothing is forced on you. I drove California but guy with me drove that and the 458 Italia. He said both great but 458 amazing!!!

Really great experience, liked the car video, and the photographer photos. He did a great job capturing the moment, and photos were very reasonable for the quantity and quality of photos taken. I would recommend for anyone interested in driving a Ferrari, live the dream!
