Select your preferred departure time, and join up with your air-conditioned coach in central London. Then, sit back and relax as you set off on your approximately 2-hour drive to Stonehenge.

Rising from vast Salisbury Plain, this spectacular ancient monument dates back some 4,500 years. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986, it centers on a ring of giant standing stones and is generally believed to have served as a prehistoric temple that marked out the movements of the sun, although its purpose is still wreathed in conjecture.

On arrival at Stonehenge, collect your included entrance tickets and audio-guide, and enjoy ample free time to explore the Stonehenge site and visitor center, whose facilities include exhibitions and a café, as you wish.

Perhaps ride the visitor shuttle or follow walkways to the monument to view it close up. Marvel at this prehistoric masterpiece, and meander around the perimeter as you ponder how the stones were transported here, and then raised and used.

Stroll around the visitor center to learn how and why Stonehenge was built through the cutting-edge audiovisuals and stunning collections of ancient exhibits, including stone axes and burial treasures. Be sure, too, to view the replica Neolithic houses to discover how the Neolithic peoples of the area lived and worked.

After nearly two hours of exploring, reconvene with your coach and relax on your ride back to London. Your trip then ends with a drop-off at the original starting point.

Overpriced and Short Visit Time

The bus was boring without a word said the whole trip. Driver has to go and get tickets twice so we waited over 20 minutes to even head out to shuttle. This cut our visit to about an hour and 20 minutes with 4 hours of driving. Rent your own car or take another way as this is really overpriced for what you get.

The bus arrived late at the station so we left almost 1 hour late to the tour, there was no guide so it was a very monotonous ride. Despite all the view is spectacular!

Not a good value. Find a better tour to Stonehenge.

Of the four tours I booked with aviator, this was the only one that disappointed. It was basically just hiring a bus to go there. The driver didn’t give any commentary the few sights he pointed out while driving only those in the first few rows could hear. We only had about 2 1/2 hours at Stonehenge and the clock on the bus was 20 minutes fast so he started to drive away without checking to see if all passengers were on board…they weren’t. We also got back to London late and were dropped off far away from the pickup point. Give this one a pass.

Prepare ahead of time

Important: download the audio tour BEFORE you go and bring headphones to listen to it. Their web adds say there is an audio tour, but only when you arrive, they tell you that due to COVID the aren’t doing it. Since they have only had TWO YEARS to update their web adds you were misinformed and now your only option is to download the gigantic file in a place that doesn’t have wifi or even good cell coverage. Mine would not load. There is internet at the Victoria station so you could even download it there IF you knew. The bus is nice, the drive is beautiful, the driver and ‘guide’ are friendly, but this is just transportation to and from Stonehedge, nothing more. The visitors center is well done and informative. But your ‘guides’ will tell you nothing about it or anything you drive past on your 5+ hours on the bus unless you ask them. There is a cafe on site so you don’t have to bring food. Had I known, I would have downloaded the app ahead of time, brought bluetooth ear buds and a phone charger. Nice trip anyway.

What a Mess
Richard_M

Stone Henge was amazing, however it was over shadowed by the mess it took to get there. Our original time was cancelled do to lack of numbers which is understandable and we were rebooked for the later tour. When we arrived the morning of there was no tour representative at the bus station to check people in and assist. The bus arrived late and the driver was not prepared. The bus did not have Wi-Fi as advertised it would. The bus driver got lost because it was his first time driving this route. Arrived late to Stone Henge, confusion on admissions tickets, and since we arrived late the buses departing time. People were frustrated and angry which led to an uncomfortable atmosphere. The drive back was uneventful and the driver was very apologetic.
