This sightseeing tour to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon begins with a hotel pickup in Las Vegas. Hop aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned motor coach equipped with reclining seats, panoramic windows and onboard restroom. Then make the trek east, first stopping at the Hoover Dam bypass bridge for a great photo opportunity, a stop for breakfast (included) and then driving through Joshua Tree forests and the Mojave Desert to the Grand Canyon.

Upon arrival at the Grand Canyon, enjoy four (4) hours of self-guided exploring at the West Rim. Hike to the Eagle Point and Guano Point overlooks to take in the amazing views. Visit the Hualapai Ranch for a wild west show and enjoy a delicious hot lunch available from a variety of different outlets (included in tour price). There are many options and a variety of exciting possibilities.

There are also two upgrades to consider during this time frame. First, consider adding a thrilling walk on the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a glass walkway nearly 4,000 feet above the floor of the canyon. Secondly, there's a stunning helicopter/boat ride. Lift off high above the canyon in a helicopter, then swoop down between its walls and land on the canyon floor. Walk around, get an up-close look at the many layers of the interior of the canyon and gain an even greater appreciation of the immensity of this natural wonder. Additionally, enjoy a pontoon boat ride along the Colorado River, looking up at the canyon’s many beautiful colors and stunning rock formations.

West Rim and Hoover Dam Bus Tour - May 17 2022.
Jonathon_A
, May 2022
Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour with Hoover Dam Stop, Meals and Optional Upgrades - May 17, 2022. The cost of the tour on the website says "starting at $89.99 per person" however I ended up paying $149 per person for the base package with no upgrades. I would like an explanation on why there is a discrepancy on the pricing. The tour schedule was good. There were adequate breaks/stops planned and the west rim and hoover dam combo tour worked out well for a day trip. The bus was newer looking and looked clean and comfortable, however it arrived late to the excalibur to pick us up. We were waiting in the rotunda before 7AM and the bus was supposed to arrive at 7:30 and it was 8:15 or later by the time we actually left the excalibur to get on the road. There were other buses that showed up to pick up for other tours and we were not sure which bus was ours until we checked with the other drivers and found out they were different companies or tours. Our bus somehow drove in around 8:15 without us seeing it since our view was blocked by other buses. By the time we realized which bus was ours most of the other guests had boarded ahead of us. The bus driver was standing about 60 feet away from the bus and was surrounded by people trying to pay cash at the last minute which was overwhelming him. We were not even sure he was the driver of this bus since he was standing so far away from it. We also wondered why cash payments were accepted at the last minute, especially when the bus was late arriving and very late in departing. Our driver was reasonably polite, however there was no explanation as to how the breakfast or lunch (which was included in our fees) was to be redeemed. When we stopped at the gas station for our first rest stop, I asked him about how and when we were supposed to get our breakfast. He acted like he really didn’t know much about it but mentioned if we went in and asked the people at subway, they would be able to help. I went into the Gas station and went up to the subway counter however there were no signs mentioning how we were supposed to redeem the breakfast. I ordered something for us to eat and told the lady at checkout that we are on the bus tour and were supposed to receive our breakfast included in the tour. She said that we were only eligible to receive a breakfast sandwich and the flatbread or 6” sub was not included. Due to this confusion, I ended up paying full price for the food I purchased and didn’t receive any credit back for it. The west rim was an amazing experience. The line was very long and there did not seem to be enough shuttle buses to get people to and from the parking lot and the skywalk area. When we got to the skywalk area we had a great lunch in the skywalk restaurant but no one told us that we would need to go there to redeem our lunch. Luckily I asked a few people and was able to find out for myself. When we boarded the bus to leave the west rim to head back one of the passengers complained that the seat that they had occupied on the way there was taken by someone else and was acting like a child throwing a temper tantrum. The driver could have easily handled the situation by telling this person that there were no assigned seats and it was first-come-first served, instead he asked everyone to return to their original seats, which was not necessary. On the drive back, he was driving up to 91 MPH at certain times, I assume in an effort to make up for lost time since we left the excalibur later than scheduled. To recap, the tour went well except for the price discrepancy, bus arriving late, the multiple patrons making last-minute cash payments, bus departing late from the excalibur, not explaining how the breakfast and lunch worked, the seat fiasco, and driving too fast at times on the way back.

Dear Jonathon, Thank you for choosing Gray Line and leaving us lenghty feedback. We appreciate your comments and viewpoints and we are sorry that we missed some of your sightseeing expectations. The one I will address in this forum is your question regarding pricing. As with most tourism products (hotel rooms, airline fares, etc), prices can vary depending upon projected visitor demand, When booking our tours, it is readily apparent on which days the lowest price is available and what the price is on a particular date. In closing, on behalf of everyone at Gray Line I want to wish you all the best in your future travel plans. Sincerely, GL Vegas Customer Service.

Grand Canyon West Rim

Our day trip to the Grand Canyon with GreyLine was amazing. Our tour guide/ driver, Freddi was brilliant. He told us stories and shared lots of information on route and about the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. He made us laugh a lot and he really helped make our experience fantastic. I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone. It was a phenomenal experience and it’s almost indescribable the immensity of the west rim Grand Canyon.

Bad execution
Rasheda_F

I purchased a Grand Canyon tour for May 16th and there were a few things that went wrong and didn't occur. The tour bus was 45 minutes late picking us up from the Circus Circus hotel, we didn't get to take the picture in front of the Las Vegas sign, we had 15 minutes to purchase breakfast and breakfast was supposed to be included. There was no voucher or instructions given regarding obtaining a voucher for breakfast. No instructions for getting lunch or that we just had to show the ticket provided at the Grand Canyon. Most of us did not get to go to all 3 sites at the Grand Canyon or even take a picture at the Skywalk (that we paid extra for) because we were told to be back at the bus for 3:30 after being dropped off at 12pm. I reached out to the company to ask if we could have more time and received a response stating the driver needed to leave on time. We sat on the bus waiting an extra 48 minutes for people who weren't on time. This was not fair and I did not get what I paid for.
icon Response from Host , May 2022
Dear Rasheda, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry that we were late picking you up at Circus Circus. When you work around the busiest tourist corridor in the worlds sometimes delays happen, usually the result of unscheduled road works or difficulty finding guests at a previous hotel pickup. We are sorry that this affected your day. Normally there is more than enough time for guests to do all that they want at the West Rim, however on some occasions the destination can be much more crowded than normal. We are sorry that this was your experience. We always try to the leave the West Rim on time as that is the fairest thing for all guests. When guests are late returning, we have little choice but to wait or find out what happened to them. When you take travelers to remote nature destinations a company has what is called a "duty of care". Instead of just being late, the guests could have become sick or injured and we just can't leave them behind not knowing. On behalf of everyone at Gray Line around the globe, I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, GL Vegas Customer Service.

When making my booking it said I would receive breakfast and lunch with this trip, unfortunately myself and my husband didn't receive breakfast, when I asked the driver she had no information regarding this. Also the bus was not what I expected, diffently not a luxury coach as stated nor was the tour guide..well lack off...we were shown a video about the hoover dam, AFTER we had visited the dam!!!! I would have liked to have known information on the dam before our visit, plus we were only offered water AFTER the Canyon trip was over... this was not at all what I thought I had paid for....reason for my 2 stars....

At the canyon I did not get around very well because there weren't signs or directions, a tour guide would have been nice. But the time was also short going from one site to another so not sure how much a guide would have been to accomplish anything. Because I did not do the skywalk I almost missed lunch because to get to the sign showing where lunch was at you had to enter the area for the skywalkers. But on the other hand our driver shared with us so much history of the area and tried to be so helpful with everything he made the trip to and from the canyon so enjoyable that I will recommend it to others. Our driver was a treasurer of knowledge and laughter, and very considerate of what we may need.

A bit less than expected..
Debbie_A
, May 2022
So, I was all excited to do this solo trip hoping to see the Hoover Dam and the GC. The GC was AWESOME.... worth the hike and saving the money to fly all the way from the EC to see part of it, - it just seemed a bit rushed and the driver who works for an independent bus company is also the 'tour guide' - He was great! I just feel there is a vagueness to the allotted time, and we left earlier than we were supposed to. Seemed like he suddenly decided to leave at 3pm as opposed to 5pm. Also the time at Hoover was literally to take a photo from way above the Dam, not indicated or explained, so it appears false advertisement on this portion of the trip. I understand it is a group of people who are not together. Many solo travelers and then some small groups of people make up these tours... but at least give us the time to see the place... Also, the trip was advertised at one price and then when you select it, it was nearly twice as much.... that is apart from the fact that you have to choose which option you take. Maybe next time Viator will do better. I remain grateful for the service they provide, they need to be accurate about information - that's all.

Dear Debbie_A, Thank you for choosing Gray Line and we are sorry if we missed your expectations, particularly regarding pricing. As with most tourism products, prices can vary depending upon both the date chosen and what a traveler would like to do. Some travelers just want to visit the amazing scenic points at the West Rim, while other might want to venture out on the glass bottomed SkyWalk ant the truly adventurous may want to take a helicopter to the bottom of the Grand Canyon for a boat ride on the mighty Colorado River. Obviously, as the more complex components are added to a schedule, the price will change. We are sorry if this was misunderstood and we will of course try and do better. On behalf of everyone at Gray Line around the globe, I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, GL Vegas Customer Service

Limited time

The place is absolutely gorgeous!! But the time given was so limited. Breakfast is not served as advertised.
icon Response from Host , May 2022
Dear Milagros, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry if there was an issue with your receiving your breakfast. I would suggest you contact our Las Vegas office about this issue. Regarding, the amount of time at the West Rim- some guests want more and some guests want less, so we have to pick a happy medium....which is longer than any other Las Vegas sightseeing company that regularly takes visitors to this amazingly spectacular destination. On behalf of everyone at Gray Line around the globe, I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, GL Vegas Customer Service.

A Good Time
Cleven_D
, May 2022
The view was great and the ride was overall pleasant. At times there was a lack of air conditioning on the bus which made it a bit stuffy but tolerable. Our Hoover Dam trip was rushed due to late return or other passengers. If you take this trip just remember to be punctual so you don’t ruin things for others.
