This was one of the best tours we took while in Greece. Our guide, Eddie was fabulous! From the time he picked us up until the time he dropped us off he keep us laughing. He shared his knowledge of Greek history and culture. The villages we visited were stunning and the family style lunch was amazing! If you want to get away from the "city" and see the true culture of Greece, this tour is a must and Eddie is a true gem.

We had the pleasure of spending the day with Eddie who shared his Crete and its history with us. Eddie knows everything! Ask him anything and he knows the answer. He says his knowledge base is from being a guide for many years and learning things from people all over the world! The tour was fabulous, we visited all of the places listed in the brochure. However, what made our experience special was the information Eddie gave us as we drove-the history of Crete, the geography of the island, how the population has shifted in the last 50 years, etc. But, he also picked mulberries off a tree for us to sample-who knew mulberries grew on a tree? We sampled plums and cherries off trees along the roadside. We enjoyed an amazing lunch in a beautiful little village. And Eddie entertained, cajoled and informed throughout. We laughed a lot and were very sad when we reached Heraklion and had to say good-bye. Don't miss the opportunity for a day of joy, bring your sense of humor!

We had a great day with Eddie (guide) and Mike (driver). They picked us up exactly on time. The van was super clean and in immaculate condition. Mike was an amazing and safe driver (and thats saying something for a greek driver). Eddie was a great guide but also made the small group tour so much fun. He has a ton of energy and enjoys sharing stories about Crete. He had the right mix of inforamtion and fun. The windmills and Zeus cave were amazing. There were also several smaller stops which were also very interesting. The stops were well placed so you had the time to use the rest room if needed. There was a lunch stop where we all shared alot of different plates of greek specialities. I would recommend not only the tour itinerary but also the driver and guide. Make sure you give these guys a big tip! They well deserve it.

I visited Crete with my wife as part of a two week trip to Greece in May of 2022. I booked this tour after reading all of the great reviews. Eddie, the tour guide, met and exceeded all expectations. From the start of the tour when he came to my Airbnb to pick us up, I could sense his warm and vibrant personality. 5 minutes into the tour I was given a nickname by Eddie of "Nick the Greek." There was one other couple in our tour visiting from Germany. The small nature of our group made it friendly and very personal. Eddie, full of knowledge, shared a wealth of facts and information about Crete from how high we were above sea level at specific points in time to informarion about the goats that he drove by. We stopped at multiple places - a farmer's strawberry field to go strawberry picking, an old village high up in the mountains, Zues' cave (where they have a mule that you can ride up and down if you want for ~ 10 Euro each way). We also stopped at a restaurant that Eddie knew well and had great rapport and relationships ship with the owner. We had wine, all different cuts of meat, Greek salad, Raki (strong alcohol good for digestion), and many other foods. I found this tour to be one of the best ones that I had gone on before. Both I and my wife felt like we had a very local experience and were able to see a wide assortment of attractions that we wouldn't have otherwise been able to see. It truly fits the "off the beaten path" description for tours. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Crete that wants an experience from a locals perspective and the ability to see things that you either wouldn't be able to see on your own (even with a rental car), or would have a difficult time with getting to. 10/10. -Nick the Greek

It is impossible to say enough good things about this tour. We had a blast and learned a lot. Eddie was a fountain of local (and random) knowledge and very easy to talk to. My 18 year old son thought it the best tour we’ve ever been on and I agree! We both LOVED the olive oil factory tour and the tour of the village the best - especially because we got to see, for the first time ever, walnut, almond, pomegranate trees and we ate strawberries directly from a strawberry patch. We could not have had a better day. Thank you, Eddie!!!!!

Eddie is extremely informative and enthusiastic about Crete. He's very cheeky and fun. The food was great too.

Eddie was such a great guide and storyteller. The entire trip was so full of information about not only Crete, but the rest of the world. It was so interesting to hear comparisons between Crete and the world. The trip gave us a look into what modern Crete looks like but what it also used to look like. The trip to Zeus Cave, the villages we passed thru, the views we had, were all great. The information that tied the views with local history gave us a great appreciation of the history and culture of Crete. Our highlight was lunch at Lithos Restaurant in Mochos. Such hospitality. I would highly recommend Lithos for anyone. Our tour at Omalia Olive Oil Company was also great. Lasithiou Plateau was phenomenal. All in all this was the best tour we have ever been on. Thank you Eddie for such a wonderful day!!!!

My partner and I booked this tour last minute on an evening while in Heraklion. We wanted to check out the Zeus/Psychro Cave mostly, and were told that 70 Euro (one way) would be a good price to get there with a taxi. We found this rather pricey for just the cave experience and were looking for trips that included the cave, but also some other nice places around. This offer sounded almost too good to be true for this reason, as it's only a bit more money, and you get so much on top, with a 8hr tour around many cool places. We were a bit sceptical whether everything would work out all right since our booking was on such a short notice, but our worries were unfounded - Communication was quic, friendly, and smooth. Eddie arrived early at the agreed-upon spot, and just swept us off our feet with his charm and friendlyness. I usually don't like those kind of tourist tours, find them tacky and inauthentic, and am quickly annoyed by other tourists and group dynamics 😅 So I was very much positively surprised when there was just a small group (6 people, 3 couples overall), and Eddie seemed authentically friendly, open and warm. He's an entertainer by heart and goes over and beyond to make his tours a special experience. For example, I was worried the uphill walk to the Zeus cave would be a bit much for me, but Eddie made it clear that we were in no rush and that it was imperative that we feel well, are relaxed, and enjoy our stay. Another person from the group mentioned they really liked strawberries, and out of nowhere, Eddie managed to get some magically during lunch 😳 - He even got me and my partner two iced coffees at the beginning, since we didn't manage to get them ourselves before the start of the trip. The 12 Euro you are asked for a huge lunch at Eddie friend's restaurant (if you like, you can also go to a different restaurant if you like) are an absolute bargain for what you get (wine, drinks, appetizers, main dish, dessert were included). I believe Eddie even might have forgotten to ask one of the couples for their lunch money by the end of the tour 😅 My partner and I gave Eddie a tip for all his more-than-100%-effort, and he even offered to take us to the airport for free the next day. This guy is just too nice. Please find it in your heart to tip him generally if he goes out of his way to provide this much of an amazing experience 💕

This was an awesome tour. Eddie is the best - he is knowledgeable, entertaining and very accommodating. All of our stops were interesting and worthwhile. Eddie ensured we had a great time, not to mention taking us to the best restaurant we experienced on our trip. The food (really feast) was beyond delicious!! Highly recommend!!!
