Not really a proper kitchen
Bad
, Oct 2020
The girl who taught the class was nice but didn’t have any professional cooking experience in a restaurant or schooling. The kitchen didn’t even have a sink or proper oven and the place is located in not a great area of town. I would not waste your money on this class to many others things to do that you get a better experience to do in Athens

What a shame you didn't enjoy yourself! Sonia, just like all of our cooks is a home cook, she's been cooking with her mother since she was a child and the recipes that you cook are from these experiences - sorry that the sink wasn't in the classroom, if you'd wanted to do the dishes you just had to ask! And the oven, well it is a proper oven, just because something is different to what you're used to doesn't mean it's wrong, a bit more travel will help open your mind up to ideas like that... As for our location, well this is the city centre and we're right beside the municipal food market so we think it's a great place to be, it makes perfect sense in fact!

Our cooking experience with Thanos was amazing! We learnt, we laughed, we cooked and ate! Glorious. The security measures against Covid-19 were respected and we enjoyed ourselves safely :)

A class not to be missed

This was a great morning in the company of Vasli, our guide. We saw the market and then spent the rest of the day learning cooking techniques and Greek culture. Vasli made sure the food we cooked was fool proof and tasted excellent. We have new skills we plan to use often in the future.

We had a great time with Antonia, touring the market and learning to fix our favorite Greek dishes. We look forward to using the recipes for a “Greek Night” dinner with our friends.

I had a great time at this class. Going to the market was nice. The market has so many things from meat, spices, seafood and vegetables. The instructor is wonderful. Has a lot of knowledge about cooking. I would gladly recommend this class.

Absolutely worth it

This experience was so awesome! I loved that we got to explore the market before to see what the shopping experience is like. I didn’t love walking through the meat market (might be helpful to give guests the option to bypass and maybe wait on the other side for the group) Our host was Antonia, and she was absolutely awesome! Very knowledgeable about Greek cooking and culture. She was super professional and friendly and made the experience 10x better. Great activity if you’re traveling alone or in a group.

We really loved our class and the tour of the market. Vasia is a wonderful and funny guide and teacher. It's a fantastic and sociable way to learn more about Greek food in general as well as cooking three delicious courses.

Easily this was the highlight of our trip to Athens - we LOVED LOVED the cooking class! It was so much fun and educational. And the teacher was the highlight of the event - she was funny, informative, and so...Greek! It was great fun. I would do it again if I ever come back to Athens.
