Meet your guide outside the Acropolis metro station in the early morning and walk the short distance to the Acropolis. After picking up your tickets, head inside to explore the hilltop archaeological site.

Listen as your guide transports you back to ancient Greece with stories of the ancient city and its importance. Stop to admire the magnificent ruins, most of which date back to the 5th-century BC, including the much-photographed Parthenon, the restored Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion, known for its exquisite Caryatid statues.

After exploring the ruins, head to the Acropolis Museum to see even more artifacts that highlight the history of ancient Greece.

If you'd like, upgrade your tour to include the ancient Agora, once the epicenter of ancient Athens. Visit monuments such as the beautifully preserved Temple of Hephaestus and the renovated Stoa of Attalos on this guided tour.

Your tour ends in Monastiraki Square in central Athens.

The only way to see the Acropolis

Our guide, Miss Efi, was a jewell! She had a degree in archaeology and worked on the restoration of the Parthenon. She let us chronologically through the treasures of the Acropolis museum and then to the Parthenon and surrounding buildings explaining everything in detail. She was easy to understand and delightful. She accommodated by changing her itinerary so we could eat first.

Interesting tour

This was a good choice for visiting Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. Our guide was kind, professional and interesting. The tour was well managed, despite the place being very crowded and I can say we enjoyed it. The agency organizing the tour was also very helpful - we had some additional questions after booking and they were quick to answer and really helpful.

Mythological experience of the Acropolis

This tour is a must if you are visiting Athens - the Acropolis and Parthenon are the main attractions in Athens! Our guide Alexandra was very knowledgable about Greek mythology and made us experience what it felt like living in the Acropolis of Athens during ancient times! Be prepared to get tired after the tour as there is a lot of standing time - wear comfortable shoes and don't forget to drink water and apply sunblock! I would also suggest doing the Acropolis Museum (after the Acropolis) as it gives one further insight on what you see in the Acropolis.

Outstanding Guode

We toured the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. Our guide’s name was Efi and she was completely great- friendly, enthusiastic, welcoming of questions, and extremely knowledgeable. It was a fairly warm day to climb the Acropolis and she helped us with finding shade and taking sufficient breaks. She then gave us an extraordinary tour of the Acropolis Museum. My wife and two teenage children were engrossed and most appreciative.

Maria was fabulous and so knowledgeable. The early time is a must not only for the heat, in summer, but the crowds. We had a very friendly group of 10 with Florida, Illinois and California represented. Walking can be difficult in places so you must watch your step. Wonderful tour. We did the Ancient Agora by ourselves later during our stay.

Awesome! Absolutely recommend this tour. It's early, which is so necessary, because any later and its just too hot. Also, you can beat the majority of the crowds, which makes the experience so much more enjoyable. As we were leaving our tour and heading down the hill around 11am or so, we passed through giant throngs of people I was so glad to have avoided just hours earlier. We lucked out too, and our tour ended up being just my friend and I with our wonderful, informative guide! Loved it!
