perfect Acropolis tour

First time in Athens we wanted to find an affordable Acropolis guided Tour. With my boyfriend we found the tour very good, it explains the main organisation and history of Athens Acropolis. As we did the tour in august it was very hot so you need to have a bottle of water with you, and as the Tour duration is about an hour it was perfect. We were in the group of about 15 people and we had a time to listen to the stories about Gods and take some pictures. very nice tour! we highly recommend it.

A walk around the Acropolis of Athens

Despina was a fantastic guide. She was really friendly, passionate and informative. On a very hot day she found shady spots to stop and talk. Her love of history laced with humour shone through. And she showed us, as English speakers, how much Greek we use all the time.

Athens Acropolis tour - highly recommended option

This tour was excellent, and very good value after seeing much more expensive tours advertised. Our guide Despina was very knowledgeable, very experienced, and gave us interesting background to all the sites. (She even expertly shepherded us between shady spots; don’t underestimate how welcome that is).. Small group (max 12), the meeting point is easy to find, you pay the guide cash for adult admission tickets, bring kids’ passports for free (EU) or reduced-price tickets, The tour ends at the Parthenon at the top, then look around and wander down at your own pace. Highly recommended.

Great Introduction

Kimon was an excellent guide. Very professional, almost like a college professor. The walk up the hill was a good pace. Even though it wasn't real hot, he still found places of shade to give us a bit more history

Am so glad I opted for the guided tour. The guide was so knowledgeable. Many things I learned that were not in any of the guidebooks I read. Really made the experience more enjoyable and educational.

tour was good

our guide Eleni was patient, knowledgeable and made sure we were in shade during the tour. she answered questions. but the tour itself starts at bottom and goes to the top of parthenon. wish it were the other way around as by the time you get to top (the best part) you are overwhelmed with so many tourists. its good to get top part early when there are fewer tourists. it gets crowded.

We were never able to locate the shop that we were supposed to meet our guide. Searched for over an hour...no help anywhere. Finally gave up and walk the Acropolis by ourselves.
