Not Worth the Price..Viator Sucks

Tour was supposed to include the following: Speedboat 5 hour travel to Santorini Pick up at Port Hotel for 1 night Breakfast Return speedboat to Athens Pick up at Port When we arrived, there was no one there waiting to take us to the hotel. I had to call the tour company several times (which is pretty expensive when you're roaming overseas. The hotel room at the Oceanis Resort was pretty basic, it was clean, the AC worked, and the balcony had a good visit of the city. It was located right on the beach, which was great. Food and service were both very good. Return ferry was 2 hours late arriving to pick us up, and then it wasn't even the speed boat. It took 9 hours in a very cramped ferry (zero legroom) to get back to Athens. No wifi.W didn't get back to our hotel until 2 am. We had to cancel a cruise we had scheduled the following morning, and had to forfeit our refund because it was later than 24 hour advance notice. Viator REFUSED to contact the tour operator on our behalf (something Expedia gladly does for it's customers). Viator does not stand behind ANY is their bookings. You're on your own to negotiate in a foreign country with a shady tour company that barely speaks English. My advice, book directly with the hotel and ferry provider. Ferry tickets are about $60 each, which means a 1 night stay at this "resort"cost over $1,000. Now at all worth it. Cut out the middle man and book your hotel directly

AVOID! Unless This Horrible Company Can Re-Organize Itself

Let's set you up on this tour and give you a "voucher" WITH NO DETAILS on it that you'll receive from the RIDE WHO PICKS YOU UP with not only time to look at it to check as you just barely make the departing boat, but the time for departures to and from your pick up locations NOT LISTED, to NO hotel name listed, to even the WRONG DATE listed, then, when you get there have NO ONE be around to pick you up when they said someone would be there, scramble around to try to find someone as you call the number on the vouchers and their operators can't locate anyone to drive you...then when you get to the hotel, the hotel itself doesn't know you were actually to be placed there, the hotel staff is pretty condescending and discourteous to you, oh and you come back/sleep with a bed bug infestation...BUT Santorini itself sure is nice.

All the pick-ups & transitions were seamless. The ferry was about 5 hours, but you are basically "cruising" the Greek Islands & the scenery was amazing. The hotel upgrade is definitely worth booking & we were able to fit in quite a bit in this short trip.

Trip was a good intro to one of the most popular Greek Islands. Trip to Santorini went seamlessly with prompt pickups at the hotel and at the port upon arrival in Santorini. We needed to find our hotel after drop off without a hotel voucher with only the name of the hotel provided by the driver. The hotel was quaint rated 2-3 star and the Island scenery spectacular. Our pickup time was provided by the hotel as 13:45 but driver did not arrive until 14:05 when provided some anxious waiting time. We made it in plenty of time to the boat for the 8 hour cuisine back to Athens where our driver was waiting to take us back to the hotel. All in all a satisfactory trip which was a good taste of Santorini. However, it did feel at times that I did not have control of my trip with the transfers from hotel to ship to hotel.

Never enough time but worth the trip, the sunset from the town was spectacular. Lots of high end jewelry and stuff there. Pick and choose carefully.

My worst travel experience. Driver who met me in santorini port dropped me off in a corner pointing to another bus saying go, ride. Thinking it's part of the package, I did. Turned out it's a public bus. So I ended in a strange bus depot, abandoned, no help from anybody, no direction on what hotel, no contact number. Tired from the long ferry ride, I checked in the first hotel. My advice: book round trip. blue star ferry yourself. Only 70 euros round trip. Hotels are many in santorini. You'll save hundreds. Or book with another professional tour group.

Good experience but our hotel stay was definitely the big let down. We were supposed to stay in a 4 star hotel which turned out to be more like a 2 star hotel. This was a very big let down to our expectations. Our experience there of the island was awesome but the hotel stay was the worst.

This tour was well planned out. It is good for those who want to see Santorini with a brief schedule. The views were amazing and given enough time to see the sunset.

We have just completed the two day...

We have just completed the two day Santorini experience trip and wish to complain about the non-delivery of the services you promised in your advertising, effectively spoiling our holidays in Santorini. The reason we went through Viator because we have used services promoted through this network before and have been very satisfied with the services participants in this network provided in terms of holiday destination and experience. Viator prides itself on providing quality tourist activities, efficiency and meeting the customer's needs. Never having been to Santorini before we looked for a trip that met the timeline and activities we wanted to do. When we read your advertisement for the two day Santorini trip we really liked it and therefore booked our tickets. Upon booking the trip, we received not a lot of detailed information on the arrangements but we trusted the reputation of Viator and assumed that your organization would provide this at the commencement of the trip. Alas, this did not happen and the actual arrangements you provided were in total contradiction with what you promised. For example, the pick up nearly failed because you provided inaccurate details on the time we were supposed to meet. We also received no details on where we were staying, who was to pick us up and there was no helpful information relating to car, hire, taxi arrangements, bus schedule designed to assist us in achieving those wonderful outings you were advertising on the Viator website. Probably because the advertised activities were not feasible in the time we actually had. Your advertisement says that we have two days in Santorini in reality it is only one day if you are lucky enough to go by plane or speed ferry but since we were going on the 8 hour ferry which only left at 7.30am that morning, there was no way we were able to get there at midday as stated. We didn't get there until 3.30pm in the afternoon. The pick up you were to organise did not come - the tourist office had to ring you TWICE to finally get someone to come and pick us up one hour later. 4.30pm to be exact. We were totally stressed as we did not know which hotel you had booked and totally reliant on your obviously non-existent organizational skills. Effectively we had to sort out the arrangements YOU were responsible for valuable time was wasted on was supposed to be a seamless arrangement. After the pick up, the driver took us to the hotel which was half an hour drive away and in some isolated corner of the island. The accommodation you booked for us was so far away from any of the sights and attractions that if we wanted to go anywhere, we had to call a taxi, taking up lots of time and organisation on our part. The sights you promised us were totally unachievable due to the location of the hotel. The sunset you raved about in the advertisement was on the other side of the island and so we missed out in our dark little corner. In view of how short our stay was to be it would have been better for us to stay in Thira to allow better access to sights in such a short time. If no accommodation was available that met our requested standard, you could have contacted us to negotiate an alternative. That's called customer service perhaps you should familiarise yourself with that concept. The next day we did not get to do a lot due to restrictions on timings of tours and your ferry pick up which was scheduled at 2.40pm surprisingly arrived on time but did not bother to assist with luggage. So did we have an experience of Santorini? Yes we did. A negative one. Your lack of care and customer service provided us with a short and miserable time on the island. All you wanted was our money and were not interested in whether we would have a good time. We noticed the review comments for the trip on Viator mentioned similar concerns which you clearly have not bothered to address as they are still happening. Hence our belief you have no intention of improving the quality of your services and hence our request for an immediate refund which was rejected without apology.

Save your 300 per person and find a better excursion. The hotels listed on Viator's website is a wish list, not a guarantee we got Pricelined into an obscure hotel, 2 Star at best no where near the 4 stars we paid for. I've used Viator in the past and will continue to do so. But this 2 Day Experience should come with a warning. All our other Viator tours were fantastic.
