Assisi Gran Tour and Sanctuaries

This was my 2nd visit to Assisi and my husband's 1st. OUr confirmation for a 3 PM tour was received in writing and followed up with an email 2 days prior to the tour with the guide's name and cell phone number. The only glitch was that we were told the day before that our tour would start at 8:30 AM instead of 3:30 PM. It posed no problem for us but one can only imagine the conflicts that could potentially arise. Our guide, Daniel, picked us up at our resort apartment promptly at 8:30 AM. He was knowledgeable in many critical historical facts dating back to times well before Christ. The information he shared with us was also relative to the history of struggles, survival and the courage of the people of Assisi throughout centuries. His knowledge of each sanctuary location we visited was spot on. Daniel was engaging and so very considerate of both of us and our needs. He reminded us to bring jackets for the cool morning temperatures, made extra lavatory and photo stops and was gracious and helpful with my husband's mobility limitations. We were never rushed and allowed ample time for visiting each site and taking photos. He was friendly and a joy to spend that time with. We both highly recommend this tour even for individuals who are well- studied on Franciscan history because this is much more. Be sure you ask for Daniel if he is available to guarantee a passionate, well- informed and gracious experience that's all about you.
