In the Golden Sands resort town up the coast from Varna, Aquapolis is a 10-acre (4-hectare) landscaped water park with a lazy river, pools, and a number of slides. Besides adults’ and children’s areas, the extreme zone boasts the Kamikaze, a slide delivering speeds of up to 37 mph (60 kph). There are a number of food options on-site.

Besides pools, slides, a lazy river, fountains, and Jacuzzis, the park offers striking landscaping, with artificial ruins and plenty of trees. Aquapolis is located on the main road through Golden Sands, in the northwestern part of the resort. A minibus picks up at points around Golden Sands for a small fee every 40 minutes. There is parking on-site, while some buses stop here en route between Albena and Varna.

Aquapolis opens during Bulgaria’s summer season, generally from the start of June until mid-September. It operates from midmorning to early evening seven days a week. Visit in the late afternoon to enjoy discounted entry.
