Peles Castle (Castelul Peles)

Aleea Peleșului 2, Sinaia, Romania

The Basics

The interior of Peles Castle is richly adorned with carvings, inlay, antiques, and artworks, and can be seen only on guided tours. Join a shorter tour of the ground floor only, or a longer tour that includes the upper level of the palace.

Day trips and multi-day tours of Transylvania often combine Peles Castle with visits to other historic landmarks in the region, such as Bran Castle and Râșnov Fortress. You can also explore both Peles Castle and Pelisor Castle, an art-nouveau-style royal residence on the same estate.

Great Sights and Great Smiles
Our tour guide Tiberius was excellent! He made sure that we knew all the history behind each castle so we could view it differently than just a pretty building. He also showed us local cuisine and was more than helpful for any questions we may have had. He also added humor along the way to make the tour even more enjoyable. There was no break in smiles the entire time. The tours were amazing and it is a must do for anyone visiting the area.

Small-Group Day Trip to Dracula's Castle, Brasov and Peles Castle from Bucharest
Nice tour to 3 main places outside Bucharest. Comfortable ride with a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Since the tour includes 3 places and the distance from Bucharest is long, there was an expected haste - to be able to see everything. This slightly undermined the experience for me. If you like to take your time in absorbing the history and beaty of each place, I'd recommend to visit no more that 1 or 2 places in a day (instead of all 3).

Transylvania Castles Tour : Peles & Dracula's Castle from Bucharest
Fast paced tour with lots of information and stops. Two castles and a guided visit of Brasov. Quick stops for snacks, but time for a proper sit-down meal is not built into the schedule.
