Generalife Gardens

Generalife, Realejo-San Matias, Granada

The Basics

Entrance to the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Generalife Gardens is included in your entrance ticket to the Alhambra, but you can also purchase a separate ticket for the gardens only. Since the complex ranks as one of the most-visited attractions in Andalucia, it’s a good idea to book a skip-the-line tour—small-group or private—of both the Alhambra and Generalife ahead of time to avoid disappointment. It’s also possible to see both attractions on a guided day trip from Seville, Roquetas de Mar, or Malaga.

Great tour - shame about the lack of Covid controls

Alhambra and Generalife Small Group Guided Tour with Skip the Line Tickets
The tour guide was very good and knowledgeable but, unfortunately the Covid measures at the facility were insufficient - people all crowding together in close quarters with no attempt at any kind of crowd control or social distancing. My health was worth more than this, so I left early.

Skip The Line Alhambra and Generalife Guided Tour
Not only was the guide Pedro ponctual and professional, he was always keen to help the tourists, keep the place clean and solve problems around him. His knowledge of the attractions is rather natural and he even brought pictures to better explain the historical and social context of Alhambra. An excellent morning.

Alhambra and Generalife Small Group Guided Tour with Skip the Line Tickets
Meeting instructions clear and our guide was on time. Really great tour, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the equipment used to hear the guide was good and all health and safety aspects thought of for Covid. The tour took around 4 hours so make sure you have good walking shoes. In some parts there is no shade so remember to take sun protection and keep hydrated. Loved the Alhambra and would do this tour again.

Skip the Line: Alhambra and Generalife Gardens Half-Day Tour
This is well worth the visit. It is absolutely stunning! If you speak English, try to ask ahead of time for an English only tour because they mixed our tour with a Spanish one and it was twice as long although it works out fine because you have more time to absorb the views. You just need to be aware of the time addition. Our tour guide Alba did a phenomenal job juggling two groups and two languages! She was very professional and knowledgeable.

Alhambra, Nasrid Palaces, Generalife and Alcazaba Private Tour in Granada
Skipping the lines with a very knowledgeable, fun and kind guide was so worth it! Priority access and bypassing the lines in each venue was great. Our time was spend taking in the sights as he explained it all in detail rather that waiting to get from one spot to the next.

An amazing experience!! La Alhambra is magic… One of the best historical places on the world!!! Viator does a great job. Juan, our bilingual (Spanish-English) guide was excellent. He demonstrated a lot of knowledge: thanks to it, the visit was even better. We totally recommend this kind of visit to be able to join the most of a place like this…

Visiting the Generalife, Nasrid Palace, and Alcazaba

The Alhambra complex is divided into three sections, all accessed with the same ticket. As you plan your tour of the palace, keep in mind that you can visit the Alcazaba and Generalife Gardens at any point during your visit to the complex, but entrance to the Nasrid Palace is for a set time.
