Meet us between 9:00am and 11:00 am at Le Clos Corbier, in Mareuil-sur-Ay, where our team will welcome you and give your itinerary. You will then discover the village of Hautvillers and enter the church where the famous monk Dom Pérignon is buried. Trials will go along with your route, with some riddles and challenges contained inside your roadbook, to help you discover the village and its history. Enjoy a moment in the vineyards, with breathtaking views on the vines of Champagne. Drive through one of the most famous street in the world, the Champagne Avenue in Epernay where some of the most prestigious estates are based. Be welcomed in Mareuil-sur-Ay at a typical Champagne House for a tasting class. Enjoy a traditional lunch which consists in homemade regional specialties paired with a variety of Champagnes. Meet us at Le Clos Corbier our headquarter in Mareuil-sur-Ay, where your bike will be ready for you to ride and start you Champagne day. Our team will welcome you and provide you with our A la Française roadbook full of our local team’s tips and anecdotes: Must-see historical places to visit, nice typical villages and great picture spots… you will have all the information’s to enjoy a unique French experience! Your e-bike will allow you to explore some of Champagne’s most remote locations. Enjoy breathtaking views on the UNESCO world’s heritage vines of Champagn. You will then discover the village of Hautvillers, birthplace of Champagne. Continue your exploration of Hautvillers by visiting the church where the famous monk Dom Pérignon is buried. Experience a cycle down the Marne canal to make your way back to the Clos Corbier.

Start the day with a stop at the ossuary “La ferme de Navarin”, monument inaugurated by General Gouraud in 1924, in memory of French soldiers who died during the Great war. Your guide will then drive you to the Meuse region, in the heart of the forest where the “Kronprinz” shelter is located, one of the German soldiers camp. Explore the famous hillock of Vauquois, full of galleries, where 14,000 soldiers lost their lives along a tiny portion of the Western front. Be driven to the historic site of Varennes-en-Argonne, at the Pennsylvania American war memorial and admire the magnificent panorama of the valley of the Aire. Hear a fascinating aside about the king Louis XVI who got arrested there in 1791. Discover the most well-known American cemetery of the World War I in Romagne sous Montfaucon. Come across the impressive ossuary in Douaumont, where unidentified French and German soldiers rest. End this trip with a visit of the “Fort de Douaumont”, iconic fortress of the Verdun battle.

My advertised rate is a standard group rate for 2 full days of visits - a couple pays as much as a group of 8 (max. size accepted). My tours can be customized to your tastes, interests and preferences. And I do offer a portfolio of shorter half-day tours and longer multiple-day tours to war and memory sites beyond the Champagne region.
