Lacock

Among the loveliest and most historical enclaves in the Cotswolds—an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty located west of London—Lacock is also one of England’s oldest villages. Renowned for the 13th-century Lacock Abbey and 14th-century St. Cyriac’s Church, Lacock is celebrated for its classically English beauty.

The basics

Included in the Domesday Book and established roughly 1,000 years ago, the historical village of Lacock offers a snapshot of England’s history. Located at the southwestern edge of the Cotswolds near Bath, Lacock was once a center for milling. Today, it’s home to multiple Grade I and II listed landmarks, from Lacock Abbey and St. Cyriac’s Church to the Sign of the Angel inn and Lacock Bridge, over the River Avon.

Lacock features on numerous Cotswolds itineraries and is often paired with visits to Bath, Stonehenge, or Salisbury. Small-group and private tours offer a personal way to explore the area.

Bath, Avebury and Lacock Village Small-Group Day Tour from London
Samuel was a wonderful guide. He passed along information that made the stops more enjoyable. Our trip went smoothly and as it was a small group, timely. The Avebury stones were magnificent, Lacock charming, and Bath a place I need to visit for a longer period in the future.

Small-Group Day Trip to Bath, Lacock and Stonehenge from London
Bath was amazing, seeing the Roman baths was truly a treat. The true treasures were Lacock and Avebury. Really neat to see the old towns and all their amazing history. Would have liked enough time to have a pint in the pub in Lacock, but it was great nonetheless. Tony had an immense amount of knowledge on the history, the buildings, birds, etc. Great guide/host.

Walking amongst the stones of Stonehenge was an amazing, unforgettable experience! This was truly a tour with experiencing. You may need to move through the a Roman Baths quicker than you expect, but it's worth it for the time to explore Stonehenge and ask the historians all the questions you want. I would recommend this tour to anyone, truly an unforgettable day.

Our tour guide Tony was amazing. He was informative, funny, accommodating and concerned that everyone got the most out of the experience. He clearly loves his job and his country as it showed throughout our day. When we go back to England, we will definitely request his services again!

Was so glad we decided to do the inner circle tour. I don't think a person can get the whole perspective of Stonehenge from the trails alone. Was worth the price for us.

Our transport partner is Mr. Choi and Tour guide is Mr. Frank. We have a pleasant and very very enjoyable time in the ride and on the locations as well. Every pound is worth spending for sure. Stonehenge - I shall never forget yesterday date as it’s such a beautiful moment to witness the beauty standing tall and unapologetic magnificently. Ample time in Stonehenge. Bath is so good and would have been great if we have some time to see. However, it’s fine. Enjoyed very well.

I love megalithic sites, and this was one of the top moments in my life. It was well worth the money. I hope to bring my grandchildren. It was a fine day.
