Visiting Barcelona for the First Time? Here's What to See and Do
Take the bother out of a trip to Barcelona with our first time–friendly recommendations.
The industrial style of the building—with exposed brickwork, stucco, and a conical chimney—reflects early 20th-century factory architecture, and throughout the historical building many manufacturing relics have been preserved, including machinery, bronze boilers, and beer barrels. A permanent exhibition in the former brewing room explains the history of the brand. Many people visit the building and space to attend an event or festival, including the popular annual BAM Festival and La Mercè Festival.
Antigua Fabrica Estrella Damm is ideal for fans of architecture, history, and beer.
The space can be rented by individuals and companies for private events.
Some events will require a ticket to enter.
Antigua Fabrica Estrella Damm is located in the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona. The closest metro stops are Hospital de Sant Pau (L5) and Encants (L2). A number of buses also stop nearby.
Events are held at Antigua Fabrica Estrella Damm on a regular basis. One of the most festive times to visit is in late September, during the annual Barcelona La Mercè Festival, when the streets around the former factory are turned into a stage for numerous free concerts.
The annual BAM (Barcelona Acció Musical) Festival is one of the main festivals held at Antigua Fabrica Estrella Damm. An alternative music festival, BAM features diverse local and international acts spanning a broad range of genres. It takes place during the annual Barcelona La Mercè Festival, one of Barcelona’s biggest festivals, which honors one of the patron saints of the city, Our Lady of the Mercy.
